Sailing Vessel Boston Light
Welcome aboard Sailing Vessel Boston Light. We moor at Wessagussett Yacht Club in North Weymouth, Massachusetts. We've been sailing this 35' Bristol sloop, built in 1970, for about ten years.

On July 3rd, 2004, we had family members join us on the boat at our mooring to enjoy the Weymouth Fireworks! The barge from which the fireworks were launched was just off our port side. Jim, Margaret, Jimmy, Jacob, Joshua, Margaret Abigail, Suzanne, David, Jessica, Audrey and our friend, Bob joined us. We had dinner on board while awaiting the festivities. The fireworks display was pretty cool, and we couldn't have been closer!
The next morning, we awoke early to a sparkling clear day. We were quite impressed to see the beach cleanup underway. After breakfast, we sailed to Portugese Cove and picked up a mooring there. It was peaceful and the weather was beautiful. We had a fantastic view of some fireworks, probably in the Winthrop area. But! We also could see the Boston fireworks from the Esplanade. We had the Pops on television and the view off our bow!
Next morning was a bit gray and overcast. As we motored homeward, the rains began to fall. It was a "foul weathergear" day!
Originally, we were planning on sailing out to Provincetown this upcoming weekend, but we may put that plan off by a week in order to make it a four-day weekend.
We're also planning a long sail up to Maine this year. Bar Harbor is going to be our destination. We're planning that for the end of August.
